The Output Absorber Double Width 4-Column System includes 12 36″ wide eco-panels with 4 mount sets. Absorbers allow you to focus your soundstage and tame the echo. With no compromise in performance, De-Fi created a sound absorbing solution using recycled and sustainably sourced materials, while also reducing the amount of materials needed. The system works for walls and ceilings.
Output Acoustic Panels offer a complete high performance system for improving the sound of your studio that’s aesthetically on point. Output partnered with sound science experts De-Fi to craft the perfect Acoustic Panels that make your studio sound and look great. Your room is a sonic hall of mirrors, and sound bounces off of hard surfaces like light does glass. This clouds the accuracy of your system, ruining soundstage focus and tonal balance. Donβt compromise your investment in audio gear by letting your space wreck your soundβyou need acoustic treatment.
PERFORMANCE THROUGH INTELLIGENT DESIGN
De-Fi Eco Acoustic Panels are able to match and exceed the performance of much thicker and chunkier solutions. This is thanks to the systemβs integrated mount design. During the holistic design process, the panel surfaces were treated as if we were designing a speaker or a microphone.
Instead of catching sound like a microphone diaphragm would, the goal was to absorb sound using big, floating diaphragms, built out of materials to treat specific frequencies, while also tuning air gaps.
The patented mounting solution of the Absorbers leaves an air gap between the Eco Acoustic Panels and the wall. Not only do these gaps effectively increase the surface area that is absorbing acoustic energy, they lower the effective range of the absorbers by functioning like small traps.
The size of the air gap is not arbitrary. The minimum and maximum range are set for the ideal trapping of midrange frequencies. The minimum air gap allowed by the Absorbers is 50mm, and the maximum is 70mm. This range of air gap is also very effective when in the cloud configuration.
Absorbers will trap frequencies associated with pitch, and not just reflective frequencies associated with sibilance, like most flush, wall-mounted solutions. The air gap allows the thinner panel material to be as effective as much thicker solutions that are mounted directly to the wall.
